Crop Monitoring
Regular field checks help to identify trouble areas before they become major problems that affect your returns. Our scouts are trained to recognize these trouble areas and determine the causes of stress.
  • Insects
  • Weeds
  • Disease
  • Drought
Insects, weeds, and disease are all easier to control when identified and treated at an early stage. Well informed decisions can then be made as to whether treatment is needed on a per field basis. Findings and recommendations for treatment are recorded in the field management software program FieldRecon. The program generates easy to read scouting and recommendation reports as well as providing a place to help track the progression of a particular crop.

Irrigation Scheduling
Our irrigation scheduling techniques implement several tools to make the most out of each watering.
  • IrrigatorPro
  • Ech2o soil moisture meters and data loggers
  • Watermark soil moisture sensors
  • Total rainfall and irrigation amount

Sample Reports:
IrrigatorPro: a software program developed by the National Peanut Lab in Dawson, GA. The program is a tool that helps make irrigation decisions based on environmental conditions and crop maturity. The software is used in corn, cotton, and peanuts.

Ech2o moisture meters: measure water content in the soil at predetermined time intervals and soil depths. The data is logged and retrieved from the device twice a week. The logged data produces a graph that can be interpreted to prescribe irrigation applications.

Watermark sensors: an indirect, calibrated method of measuring soil moisture. It is an electrical resistance type meter which converts the electrical resistance reading to a calibrated reading of Centibars(kPa) of soil water tension. The sensors are used as a water management tool in the majority of the fields we monitor for irrigation management and is used in many cases in conjunction with IrrigatorPro.

Rainfall and Irrigation Amounts: although we implement several cutting edge technologies when making irrigation decisions, we don’t overlook the basics such as total water. We record rainfall and irrigation amount twice a week and present the data in an easy to read report that can include several weeks of irrigation and rainfall amounts, growth stages, irrigation system status, as well as many other variables.
